Bituminous membrane system (bitumen sheet)

waterproofing

The bituminous membrane system is a technique used in the construction industry for waterproofing buildings, particularly roof and vault surfaces. This system consists of multiple layers of materials that are applied to the building's surface to create a waterproof membrane that protects the building from moisture and leaks.

1. Cleaning and preparation of the entire surface, removal of loose mortars.
2. Apply bituminous primer varnish over the entire surface to achieve maximum adhesion of the bitumen sheet to the substrate and prevent its detachment.
3. Thermal welding of the bitumen sheet (Dien SBS), weighing 6 kg per square meter, with an upper coating of mineral white granules and resistance up to -20°C. The bitumen sheet is thermally welded using a special torch. The sheets are welded parallel to each other, starting from the lowest point to the highest. On the parapets, we extend approximately 15 cm.
4. Reinforcement of the insulation with the application of elastoplastic acrylic and polyurethane sealing material at all sensitive points. The entire perimeter of the surface is also reinforced at the point where the edge of the bitumen sheet meets the parapet or wall.

Advantages of bituminous membranes (bitumen sheet):

Absolute protection from moisture.

It ensures excellent adhesion to all structural materials.

The proposed solution is cost-effective, contributing to a quick return on investment.

It has high resistance to the contractions and expansions of the building, as it consists of elastomeric (SBS) membranes.

Materials:

Hermes SBS 6kg or Sika bituminous membranes.
