Thermal facade system

EXTERNAL THERMAL INSULATION

External thermal insulation (thermal facade) of the walls involves the installation of thermal insulation on the exterior part of the building's external walls and its protection with layers of specialized materials to provide high resistance to time, weather conditions, and mechanical stress.

1. It installs, if required, the window sills, as they should protrude from the final surface of the system.
2. It defines at the base of the wall (usually 50 centimeters in height from it) with a special metal piece, a horizontal guide that must be perfectly vertical to the vertical edges-corners of the building.
3. Thermal insulation boards are applied with a thickness of the customer's choice made of white or graphite-expanded polystyrene EPS 80, and they are bonded with polyurethane foam and mechanically secured with appropriate special plugs. It is important that these boards are staggered so that their vertical edges do not align with the vertical edges of the thermal insulation boards in the row below. This is exactly what we pay attention to when building with bricks.
4. It creates a special waterproofing and protection zone at the base of the thermal facade. The density of the thermal insulation material increases, and if required, a cementitious waterproofing layer is applied to prevent the future appearance of rising moisture.
5. Corner beads and drip edges are installed with the initial plaster material to form the framework within which the special coating will be applied. They are reinforced with rectangular pieces of fiberglass mesh, which are the imaginary extensions of the diagonals of the windows and external doors.
6. The application of the base coat follows, using a notched trowel (at a 45-degree angle) to determine the thickness of the layer, fully covering the polystyrene (which, it should be noted, must have been previously cleaned of dust residues due to the prior sanding). The application of the coat begins now from the ceiling and proceeds downward.
7. While the coating is still wet and soft, the fiberglass mesh (160g) is placed, embedding it into the coating with the flat side of the trowel, avoiding the creation of wrinkles or bubbles (areas that are not covered by the coating).
8. We apply a layer of high-strength primer and finish with a coat of acrylic plaster over the entire surface, with a thickness of 1.5 to 3 mm.

Advantages of thermal facade:

It contributes to energy savings of up to 60%. The construction cost is recovered within five years.

The external walls of the building are aesthetically upgraded.

We achieve the elimination of thermal bridges.

It has excellent resistance to impact, abrasion, thermal cycling, standing water, etc. The performance of the material is not affected by moisture and temperature, and when combined with spray-applied polyurethane insulating foam, it can provide a top-tier thermal and moisture insulation system.

With polyurea, the installation of tiles for decoration is not required.

We achieve the external waterproofing of the walls towards their interior section.

The primer and preparation depend on the substrate.

Materials:

Certified thermal facade systems.
